Update knowledge of Travel & Tourism is essential for the teachers. - MARCO GORIN, CCO, GALILEO
As a part of imparting the relevance and scope of IATA course a workshop, first of its kind was conducted by the consortium of IATA-Canada, “Aviation Herald”, IAAI (IATA Agents Association of India) and Galileo International at Grand Hotel Kochi.
Inaugurating the function, Mr. Marco Gorin, Chief Commercial Officer, Galileo and World Span stressed the need for updating the knowledge of Travel and Tourism and comparison of IATA Courses with other courses for faculties who are handling these subjects.
In the key note address Mr. Gurjit Gill, Regional Training Business Development for South East Asia, IATA Canada, highlighted the Relevance and Scope of IATA courses. According to him this is the fastest growing Industry Worldwide. He also emphasized that IATA qualification is mandatory for Placement with Airline and Airports all over the world.

Earlier Mr.Biji Eapen the head of the consortium, formally the first member of Passenger Agency Programme Global Joined Council (PAPGJC)from Asia and the Chief Executive Officer of Speedwings welcomed the gathering.
He spoke in detail about the structure of Airport Handling Management and the golden opportunities existing in this vast dynamic industry.
Dr Rangarajan, Head – English Department of Maharajas College, highlighted the need of Communicative English for the aspiring students. Dr. Mary Matilda, Vice Principal of Maharajas College felicitated on the occasion.
Ms.Sijimol, Mr. Shaji, Ms. Sunu Zam - Trainees in Travel and Tourism presented the topics. Adv. T.J. Ignatius proposed vote of thanks.
